Unintentional feeding - residents or business unintentionally leaving coyote attractants outside (compost, pet food, trash, grills, & fallen fruit)

Observation - noticing tracks, den, scat, or vocalizations (howls)

Sighting - visual observation from a distance greater than 100 feet

Encounter - unexpected direct meeting with coyote, within 100 feet, without incident

Incident - coyote exhibits behavior such as stalking, baring teeth, or lunging

Attack - aggressive interaction where human is grabbed, bitten, scratched, or otherwise injured by a coyote
